Oscar and Shironbutterfly Ray have been involved in the film industry for 20 years as producers, writers and actors. They have helped to grow indie film in their town of Muskogee,OK by encouraging local artists and encouraging young people to get active in the industry. 16 years ago, they founded the Bare Bones Film Festival, a premiere festival in the US and a consistent member of FilmMaker Magazine’s Top 25. Known as the “friendliest film festival in the world,” this festival focuses on movies made “By Any Mean’s Necessary” and a focus on “no frills no waste.” They promote what is right about indie film – making your project, showing your work and building colleagues, not competitors.
